Independent Americana/folk/blues singer-songwriter Beth Bombara proudly releases her third EP, "Raise Your Flag," with a special CD release show set for June 15 at Off Broadway with fellow St. Louis acts The Blind Eyes and Bruiser Queen. Recorded in St. Louis, "Raise Your Flag" features six new songs by Bombara as well as hand illustrated artwork by St. Louis artist Casey Miller.
"The DIY aspect of
creating music is something I really value. I want my music to sound
real, organic," says Bombara. "These songs were tracked in my house in
St. Louis, and two blocks from my house at a neighbor's studio. My
husband and band member Kit Hamon stepped up as our main recording
engineer. I'm very excited to share these songs with everyone. It's
affirming to see growth in your art, and I really feel that with this
project."
A notable and frequent contributor to the
St. Louis music community, Bombara was named Best Singer-Songwriter of
2012 by the Riverfront Times.
She has developed her signature
sound over the past decade, drawing inspiration from not only her
favorite rock, blues, and folk musicians but also from the places she’s
lived in and toured through over the years, first as a member of
Samantha Crain and the Midnight Shivers and then as a solo artist.
Having
independently released two successful EPs and, most recently, a
full-length album on vinyl, Bombara is poised and ready to share her
songs and her stories with a larger audience. When not singing,
stomping, sliding, and shredding with her own band, she cheerfully lends
her talent to local groups Old Lights and Cassie Morgan + the Lonely
Pine.
Join Beth Bombara along with The Blind Eyes and
Bruiser Queen on June 15, 2013 at Off Broadway, sponsored by the I Went
to a Show music blog. "Raise Your Flag" will be available for purchase
at the show and following on iTunes, CD Baby and at St. Louis area
independent record stores.
